Try Cock Drip Funnel

Recently I made a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA and while there discovered some great details on the ‘Betsy’. The locomotive is a late 19th Century 0-4-0 saddle tanker that had a hard life in the Borax mining business near Trona, CA. In the early 1940s Walter Knott purchased the engine and had her moved to the Ghost Town attraction where she remains to this day. Like the little engines that were so common in Hawaii, the Betsy still retains some charming details that have inspired a new item for us. Below you’ll see the cast drain for the two Try Cocks that were fitted to Betsy’s backhead. We think this is a great little detail so we’re offering it here in 2.5″ scale cast brass or black finished sintered stainless steel (faux cast iron). The precast drain hole can be tapped to fit your drain pipe or you can solder it directly to the casting. Let us know if you’re interested in more little details such as these.

Lots of modelers have come to us wanting a Try Cock Drip Funnel suitable for three Try Cocks, well now we have one. In the photos below you’ll see two versions of the Drip Funnel are now available.
